Hugh Howey, (http://www.hughhowey.com/)author of the groundbreaking dystopian novel "Wool" will be giving a talk on e-publishing at the Merril Collection of Science Fiction, Speculation and Fantasy, on Monday, June 16 at 7:00 p.m.

"Wool" is the first self-published e-book to crack a million in sales. It was picked up (finally!) by Simon and Schuster, and the film rights have been sold to Twentieth-Century Fox, and Ridley Scott is one of the directors being considered to helm the movie. So Howey is a "big deal". The book features a strong female main character who should fulfill both the Bechdel test and the Mako Mori test!

The event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Merril and Kobo, and Bakka-Phoenix will be selling hardcopies of the book and anyone buying it at the event will also get a free downloadable copy.
